Yes. Licenses are required for dogs and are available with proof of rabies vaccination. There is a $10 annual fee for each altered dog (spayed/neutered) and a $50 annual fee for each unaltered dog.
Yes. It is unlawful for the owner or custodian of any dog to cause, permit or allow such dog to roam, run, stray, or to be away from the premises of such owner or custodian and to be on any public place, or on any public property, or the private property of another in the city of Stanwood, unless such dog, while away from such premises, is controlled by a leash or lead, such control to be exercised by such owner or custodian or other competent and authorized person. Any dog found roaming, running, straying or being away from such premises and not on a leash as provided in this section may be impounded subject to redemption in the manner provided by this chapter. (Ordinance 1033, 1998).

Yes, door-to-door sales are permitted with a current City of Stanwood Peddlers License. For more information contact the Permit Specialist at City Hall via phone at 360-629-2181, ext. 5211.
A Business License is required for businesses operating within the city limits of Stanwood, including businesses physically located outside city limits that perform services for customers inside city limits. City approval is required for initial issuance. All Business Licenses must renew on or before the expiration date printed on their Business Licensing Service renewal notice.(Stanwood Municipal Code 5.03.010 - 5.03.090)

To report a pothole or other unsafe street condition, call the Public Works Department at 360-629-9781 during regular business hours. Call 911 after normal business hours to report any situation that is an emergency such as a down or missing stop sign.
Report a street light out by calling Snohomish County Planned Unit Development (PUD) at 360-629-5700 during regular business hours. You will need to provide the address of the pole and the pole number.
You can apply for a passport at City Hall (10220 270th Street NW). Passport hours are Tuesday and Thursday 1 pm to 4 pm and Wednesday 10 am to 4 pm. We are closed Monday and Friday. Please note: The last applicant for the day will be seen no later than 3:45 pm. Please plan ahead for larger groups.
