PUBLIC WORKS NOTIFICATIONS - Traffic Impact, 2021 Improvement Projects, Construction Information

The Heritage Park paving project has been completed. Expect to see crews there the week of May 3rd for striping of the parking lot.

The City will be paving  276th St NW from 73rd Ave NW, east to Woodland Road.

Weather permitting, the project will begin Monday, May 3rd.

Flaggers will be in the area starting the week of May 3rd while crews work on ADA ramps. There may be minor traffic disruptions during that time.  Grinding will begin Friday, May 7th

ROAD CLOSURES will begin the week of May 17th. Click the map to view the traffic control plan for detours that may affect your commute.

276th Paving detour

Work to begin on Pioneer Highway Sewer Main 

 Please be prepared for detours and delays.


Pioneer Highway- Crews will be working on the section between SR 532 and Triangle Road. This section will remain open with Flaggers in place.

Triangle Drive- Closures to begin on approximately April 8.  The road will be closed from Pioneer Highway to Cedarhome Drive. 

Pioneer Highway- Closures to begin on approximately April 12. The road will be closed from 267th St NW (fire station), southeast to 77th Ave NW at the entrance of Fox Hill Estates. 

272nd St NW- Crews will be grinding  272nd St NW between Pioneer Hwy and 83rd Dr. NW. Grinding will take place on April 12th. Grading will take place on April 14th. 

  • Local Access will be maintained for residents
  • Sidewalks will not be affected on Pioneer Highway

Closures will take place 7:30 am - 4:00 pm, Monday through Friday for approximately four weeks.

Water Line Flushing
  • Public Works will be hydrant flushing Monday-Thursday 7:30 to 3:30 through May. 

  • Hydrant flushing signs will be posted in the affected areas the day prior.

  • During flushing, customers will experience lower water pressures. 

  • It is recommended to limit water use during flushing to prevent bringing discolored water to your faucets.



Roadside Maintenance

We would like to remind citizens that periodically, vegetation management takes place along roadsides on public right-of-ways. During the summer, this maintenance increases.

Please note: Inside the city limits, this maintenance is performed by WSDOT, Snohomish County and the City of Stanwood. Any maintenance outside the city limits is performed by WSDOT or Snohomish County. We appreciate the patience and respect shown to our employees and those of the other entities.
