Rob is a graduate of Mount Vernon High School and received his Bachelor of Arts at the University of Washington. He is a former State Representative from District 40 (1991 to 1995). During that time he co-chaired the Joint Select Committee on Flood Damage Reduction and was vice-chair of the Parks and Natural Resources Committee. Rob served on the Mount Vernon School Board from 2003 to 2006. He is a self-employed financial adviser and agent for life and health insurance and has been a reservist with the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) since 1996 as a floodplain manager. Rob and his wife, Ruth, have two grown children, one grandson, and three very spoiled Boston terriers.
