Low income senior citizen residents of the City may apply to receive a discount of 30% from the normal charge for limited basic services and installations to those individuals age 62, who are the legal owner or lessee/tenant of their residence, provided that their combined disposable income from all sources does not exceed income levels used by the City for other utility discounts.
Eligibility
Please use the following definitions in determining eligibility:
Senior Citizen: A person 62 years of age or older, whose income provides the primary financial resources for the household in which the citizen is a full time resident.
Low Income: A household in which the total annual income is below the average of the very low income level for the Seattle/Bellevue area (which covers King and Snohomish Counties), as established and amended by survey from time to time by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. Presently, the maximum income levels are set at the amounts listed below:
