Dog Licenses

Dogs residing in the Stanwood city limits are required to be licensed. To license your dog, please complete the application form available at City Hall or download the Dog License Application (PDF).

Please bring appropriate documentation including a rabies vaccination certificate and spay/neuter certificate if applicable, with you to apply at City Hall.

Please note: Lifetime Licenses are no longer available. If you have purchased a lifetime license before May 3, 2015, your license is still valid. Remember that you must provide the City of Stanwood with a copy of the updated rabies certificate.

Olive wants to remind you - having an unlicensed dog residing within the city limits of Stanwood is a violation of the Stanwood Municipal Code and is a citable offense. Dog Licenses:

  • Identifies your pet - If your pet is lost, the finding party will know who to notify
  • Will ensure that your pet as well as other pets in contact with your pet has rabies vaccinations

Lost Pets

If your pet is lost:

  • Call 911 and check with Stanwood Police Department to see if your dog was picked up.
  • Contact the Everett Animal Shelter at 425-257-6000 or visit lost dogs on the website.
  • Contact local veterinary clinics.
