***DELAYED*** 2021 Building Codes Update

The 2021 Building Code Update has been delayed for 120 days. Please contact the city if you have any questions.

On July 1st, 2023, the State of Washington will be adopting the 2021 Building Codes and every jurisdiction in the State will be required to enforce these new rules for every project not vested under the 2018 codes. We are expecting a high volume of applications, so below are guidelines on how we will process and vest applications before the new code takes effect:

  1. A complete and signed permit application, plans, calculations, Geo tech reports and/or other pertinent information to conduct a thorough review of your project will need to be submitted prior to 12:00 am on July 1, 2023.
  2. The city will have up to the close of business on July 17th, 2023, to notify you if your permit packets are complete.
  3. Once you are notified of a complete application, you will have 5 business days to pay the plan review fees.

If you have specific questions on what is required for your project, please contact us to avoid any confusion. Failure to properly submit enough information to be considered a complete application, or failure to pay the plan review fees on time will result in your project being designed to the 2021 codes.
